Abstract

Value systems become key success factors for organizations that seek to improve their organizational performance. The purpose of this research is to determine the uses of information technology and communication (IT) in the processes of the value chain of companies for the cocoa sector in the city of Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area. Organizations have shortcomings with respect to the increased use of IT to streamline their invoicing, manufacturing, distribution and storage activities of their products and it is well known that if they lack of beneficial, quick and well-timed relation to attend the needs and requirements of their customers, these are lagging the global dynamics.
