Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present some health outcomes of the population of the countries of the Andean Community of Nations, CAN, during 1990-2010. In general, the population of the countries of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru is healthier: life expectancy is increasing, infant mortality has fallen considerably, the morbidities of the twentieth and twenty-first, such as cancer and AIDS seem to have levels important treatment, but still prevalent shortcomings of previous centuries diseases (tuberculosis), children still die unborn or premature and, for adults the cause of death is essential in cardiovascular disease. These results are a reflection of health spending per person and as a proportion of GDP.
