Abstract

This article presents the behavior of Colombia's mining exports from a regional perspective during the period of 1991-2010. Taking in consideration the data of foreign trade from DANE, it analyzes the structure of the mining exports focusing on those that do not belong to the hydrocar¬bons group, more specific, this academic approach does not consider the areas of oil and carbon. The Colombian states with higher participation on export mining trade are: Antioquia, Boyacá and Chocó, exporting gold, emeralds and copper as the main product. However, mining is not relevant in the added regional value.
