Abstract

This paper develops some of the criteria of Mäastrich Convergence for the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) inside a Barro process (1990). Following both convergence estimations beta and sigma variables like: inflation, exchange rate policy (nominal and real) and current Account for period 1980-2003, and complemented with a Johansen Cointegration Test (1988), it concludes that despite existence of convergence, these are weak, due to both the nature of estimation and Scatter processes of convergence presented by Latin America in the period of reference.
