Abstract

This article shows in a descriptive form the evolution of industrial aggregate value of Valle del Cauca and Colombia during the period 1975 - 2002.  The work shows that the industry of Valle del Cauca and Colombia have a similar behavior of long run; however, increases in Valle del Cauca are lower than in Colombia and several activities are more volatile.  Besides, the industry of Valle del Cauca has lost participation in the Colombian economy in the last years of study.   The most important industries of Valle del Cauca by participation and dynamics on national economy are food and chemical products.
