Education, Employment and Income in the Municipality of Tumaco 2015

Abstract

Education is the foundation that supports the growth and economic development of a country; keeps a close relationship with the employment and incomes of individuals. This paper contrasts the fulfillment of this relationship for the municipality of Tumaco (Nariño), and with data from 240 individuals by the year 2015. The Mincer fixed Heckman model, it was established that an extra year of schooling increases approximately 13,3 % the income of the tumaqueños; likewise, through Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition, it was determined that being a professional graduate increases by 67,2% income and by 49,7% the probability of finding employment in this municipality.
