Abstract

¿What to educate someone in?, and ¿how to educate?, are the questions that international agencies, governments and educational institutions ask themselves. The curriculum is the centerpiece of academic processes, and on it rest the education and training outlined in the strategic and educational projects of institutions. Despite the importance it has assumed, the curriculum itself focuses more on encyclopedic knowledge rather than the person being educated: the student. This article discusses curriculum trends being conceived, both nationally and internationally.
